When I returned from my naval service in Vietnam, I took some graduate courses in 3D design at a state university. Before my military adventure, I’d been singing with a choral group at the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, Italy. Across the Grand Canal stood the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria della Salute, which I admired daily for the week we were recording in San Marco. At school, when I peered into my box of metal scraps – saved for several years for some future project – all the architectural elements of the cathedral seemed to be there, just waiting for me to assemble them. So this is what I did!
