When I retired in 2008 and moved to Morro Bay, the first order of business was to get my mind & body ready to start the impending dialysis treatments. That took about a year. The next important thing was to find a dog companion.

I completed an extensive application at Woods Animal Rescue in San Luis Obispo. About 2 weeks later, while in my dialysis chair, they called saying they’d found a dog for me. Everything got much better after that.
